History

The SIROP (Seychellois International Refugee and Onward Program) was launched in 1986 in London,  address at 87a Victoria, Kilburn Brent by the Exile Opposition encompassing the Canada, the USA, South Africa, Australia, East Africa, Europe exiles from Seychelles. In conjunction with the Pan European Movements, Europe and international NGO, Exiles community of Latin america, East Europe exiles community,  Academicians,  those European Royal entities, then Europe governments and Institutions, particular France, Austria,  Italy and Ireland, the USA and Canadian government,    the International Interfaith, Seychelles government, the business/merchant community, the European expat communities, the Francophone alliance, Indian Ocean France cultural alliance, the South African government,  the OAU,  Member countries of the Arab League and OPEC, Israel and important Network, the international Monetary - Financial working.  Aspects of the Commonwealth and NAM, most important the support of President Gorbachev- through Perestroika politic. It aimed to address the political and economic challenges facing the country during a period of instability following several attempted coup and the Cold War. The program focused on promoting multi party return,  democracy, human rights values and economic recovery through various initiatives, including support for refugees and displaced persons, and fostering international  and regional cooperation. It played a significant role in shaping the political landscape in Seychelles in the late 1980s, the Indian Ocean Region Countries. Africa, the Middle east, Latin America, Asia, China, former USSR, East Europe and Central Europe, Germany Reunification. It played an important part in the change management process for 35 years, reshaping international institutions working.
